Dear Friend,

In News by Carla

You reading this is no coincidance, and I am thrilled our paths are crossing (or circling)! I know that I absolutely adore you, or cannot wait to meet you! Let me thank you for reading these words because they are reflecting something dear to my heart. Some of you know about my first ever mission journey to Haiti last summer. This life changing experience provided me the opportunity to put His hands and feet to work, through my own, in assisting with clean up and home construction in post-earth quake Haiti. In my mind I can still replay the last afternoon at our worksite. We were unusually quiet, squished in the back of an old Toyota truck watching the home we helped to build gradually diminish in size. The excited children’s farewells and running slowed to a stop. They waved to us until they could not see us anymore calling out for us to visit again, and not to forget them! The tears streaming down my face were unexpected, as I realized that I wasn’t quite ready to leave. There has been a persistent stirring in my heart ever since.

Through a series of incredible people and events I have been blessed with the opportunity to attend YWAM (Youth With a Mission) Discipleship Training School in Oxford, New Zealand. If you want to learn more about YWAM New Zealand please visit their website: http://www.ywamoxford.org/around-the-world-in-80-days/. Their mission emphasis is twofold: I will get to participate with focused discipleship training in bible, prayer and service as well as learning to minister in countries all over the world!
The training begins February 27th in Oxford, New Zealand. I will study with a team for three months before going to one of 6 regions (Africa, South America, the Middle East, Europe, South East Asia, Far East Asia).  I’ll participate in children’s ministry, prayer walking, preaching in churches and home groups, prison ministry, teaching English, and practical mercy ministry. All the teams will come back together in Israel and meet on the Mount of Olives on August 11TH.

I am relying completely on the generous prayers and giving of people like you to make this life transforming journey possible. This is a true test of my faith as I step out, not knowing how God will provide, but believing that He will.  Praying and giving are important ways that you can participate in mission work. You may not go physically on a mission journey, but in partnering with me through prayer or financial support or both, you will go with me.
WILL YOU PLEASE PRAY AS I PREPARE TO GO (For a hunger to know God and His Word, a deeper level of trust and faith, courage) AND WILL YOU GIVE FINANCIALLY?
The cost of this mission journey is $14,000 (I need to have $6000 on the first day of training, February 27th and the REMAINING $8,000 by March 20th see final page for breakdown). No matter what amount you give, please know that every dollar is needed and gratefully received.
