God’s Desire to Know His Children

I was reading in Genesis chapter two this morning while I drank a delicious cup of coffee. In my coffee was a bit of creamer and some sprinkles of cinnamon. Mmmm!

So, first I’m STRUCK by the intimacy of God blowing LIFE into Adam’s nostrils. Into Adam’s nose! I mean, to KISS someone—lips to lip is a quite intimate sharing. Imagine someone blowing LIFE into you. A side and silly thought, do you think Adam had any boogers? Forgive me, but I’ve had a cold recently and have been using a lot of Kleenex tissues!

Then a few verses later in 19 I read about God forming wild animals and birds to find a companion for Adam. God brings these marvelous creatures to Adam to SEE WHAT ADAM will CALL them! Then whatever Adam says? So they were called.

Imagine the delight and joy of God watching Adam:

Adams sees the animal. He strides confidently up to them.  Arms extended, he runs his hands over their backs—fuzzy, rough, feathered and furred. Only after his examination does Adam then find the noises to create their name!

And so they were called.

I smiled as I read about this dance of exploration, discovery and creation WITH God. God loves His children and His desire to know their thoughts and dreams and ideas. God longs to know you in the same way. I’m just sayin’.
